William F. Katz is a professor of communication disorders at the University of Texas at Dallas. His research focuses on neurolinguistics, phonetics, and speech production by healthy and brain-damaged talkers. His recent studies involve visual kinematic feedback provided by an electromagnetic articulograph (EMA) to treat speech errors after stroke. This work has provided much of the impetus for the Visible Speech Project.
